Building a Smarter German-American Partnership

Dear Friends of the transatlantic relations,
Dear Friends of the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange,

The U.S. Department of State has cut funding for the CBYX program by 50% for the 2015-2016 program year, and the future of the program’s existence is in danger. In order to guarantee that CBYX, one of the most prominent German-American exchange programs for the past 30 years, continues to support 700 German and American participants annually, funding for the program must be restored to $4 million.

Use this website and the petition to get involved. Similar funding cuts to other State Department programs have been reversed in the past, but only through the efforts of thousands of program alumni and supporters who let their voices be heard.

Think about how CBYX has changed your life and how your participation has improved the U.S.-German relationship through the people you met and the relationships you formed. Make it known that this program is still an important part of our public diplomacy, to prevent the program from being cut further or potentially ended in the near future.

Support for the program is needed from as many people as possible, so please share this website and the petition with anyone you know whose life has been touched by CBYX or who believes strongly in the German-American partnership.

Thank you for your support!
