Lessons for American Diplomacy from German Unification

AGI is proud to present a lecture by Robert Zoellick to officially inaugurate our new office and conference space. Mr. Zoellick is best known for his distinguished career as President of the World Bank, U.S. Trade Representative, and Deputy Secretary of State. He was also the lead U.S. negotiator on German unification, and he will reflect on the lessons for American diplomacy today from the opening of the Berlin Wall and German unification. We are delighted to have as a discussant Horst Teltschik, who for many years was national security advisor to German Chancellor Kohl and who played a leading role in the unification negotiations. Anne Gearan, White House Correspondent at The Washington Post, will moderate the discussion

AGI President Jeff Rathke and German Ambassador Emily Haber will also offer words of welcome.

Following the event at 4:30 pm, please join us for a reception celebrating the opening of our new platform for public engagement.

Space is limited and registration is required. Contact Ms. Elizabeth Caruth, Research Associate, at ecaruth@aicgs.org with any questions.
