A New Strategic Vision for Europe

October 5, 2015

Europe stands at the breaking point, facing a supermarket of security risks and challenges, from the return of an aggressive and geopolitically oriented Russia, to the largest refugee crisis since the Second World War and the specter of militant Islam, threatening to erupt not only in the Middle East but in the heart of Europe itself.

Dr. Erich Vad, former long-time military adviser to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Brigadier General of the German Bundeswehr presents a proposal for a bold new European strategic vision. This includes the creation of a new European strategic culture and the structural overhaul of the current defense infrastructure in Europe, with particular attention paid to Germany.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. The event will be video-recorded and open to the press.
