Heidi Obermeyer

German Council on Foreign Relations

Heidi Obermeyer is a German Chancellor Fellow from the United States at the German Council on Foreign Relations conducting research on German foreign policy and transatlantic relations. Prior to joining DGAP, she was a Fellow and Program Coordinator at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins University SAIS from 2015 to 2017. She has worked for the Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, for the U.S. Commercial Service in Munich, and in federal consulting in the Department of Veterans Affairs. She holds an MA in Political Science with a concentration in European Governance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in International Affairs, Germanic Studies, and Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

She is a 2018-2019 participant in AICGS’ project “A German-American Dialogue of the Next Generation: Global Responsibility, Joint Engagement,” sponsored by the Transatlantik-Programm der Bundesrepublik Deutschland aus Mitteln des European Recovery Program (ERP) des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi).
