On November 30, AICGS held its 16th Annual Global Leadership Award Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
AICGS is very proud to honor Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Reitzle, President and CEO of the Executive Board of Linde AG, for his enduring positive influence on the German-American partnership. As a leader in the industrial gas and engineering industry, Wolfgang Reitzle has contributed greatly to the ties between Germany, Europe, and the United States, and we are delighted to welcome him among the Institute’s distinguished Global Leadership Award recipients. Jacques Nasser, Chairman of BHP Billiton, presented Prof. Dr. Reitzle with the award in honor of his commitment to German-American relations and his strong leadership in this field.
In recognizing contributions to the German-American alliance, the 2010 Global Leadership Award Dinner marks an important milestone in that partnership: the twentieth anniversary of the unification of Germany. This pivotal event played a central role in the larger European transformations over the past two decades. And German unification has also transformed German-American relations in multiple ways, working on the basis of both cooperation and competition, as leaders in partnership often do. The Institute is proud to join in celebrating this historic milestone by honoring those who continue to support the strong bond between Germany and the United States.
