Ms. Ute Volz
DAAD/AICGS Fellow

Ute Volz is a scholarship holder and doctoral candidate at the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) in Essen at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Part of her dissertation is a computable general equilibrium model of Germany which looks at the effects of population aging on the different sectors of the German economy.
During her stay at AICGS in October and November 2008, Ute will be conducting research on global imbalances. Her project seeks to examine "Global Capital Flows - The Investment Income Puzzles of Germany and the U.S."
Ute studied Economics and Political Science at New School University (New York City) and Frankfurt University, where she received her advanced graduation (Diplom) in each field. Before starting her Ph.D. she worked as an economist on trade related issues at the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt.
Her research interests include international (economic) relations and applied general equilibrium modeling.
