Mr. Alexander Ritzmann

Alexander Ritzmann is a former member of the Berlin State Parliament, Germany (2001-2006) and was the vice chairman of the Free Democratic Party's parliamentary group. He served as the ranking member of his party on the homeland security and intelligence committees and was the spokesman for homeland security. Ritzmann is a senior research fellow at the European Foundation for Democracy in Brussels, Belgium, and his research focuses on the transatlantic aspects of the 'war on terrorism,' the radicalization of Muslims in Germany and the U.S., and Hezbollah and Hamas structures in Europe.

While he is at AICGS as a DAAD/AICGS Fellow, he will be working on the topic of radicalization of Muslims in Germany and the U.S. and the implications of this for immigration and homeland security policies.
