Mr. Friedrich Paulsen
Friedrich Paulsen will be an AICGS Visiting Fellow researching innovative practices in public governance involving the cooperation of public, private-commercial, and private non-profit actors in Germany and the United States. From 2003 to 2007, he studied Administrative Modernization, European Studies, and Sustainable Development in a North-South Perspective at the universities of Münster and Twente. In 2009, he earned an M.A. in political science, sociology, and public law from the University of Münster.
He is currently working on his doctorate with a graduate scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. Mr. Paulsen works as a member of the research staff at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Münster. He has also completed work for the German Police University, the Centre for Non-Profit Management, and the European Research Services GmbH. He has published a number of articles on public management in German cities. Mr. Paulsen is a board member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in the county of Steinfurt and an elected member of the Regional Council of the Regional Government Münster, where he is deputy chairperson of the Transport Commission.
