Roundtable Discussion with Ambassador Hans-Dieter Lucas

In our continuing series of discussions on important foreign and security issues with leading German experts, Ambassador Lucas will address the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw and the anticipated issues for the summit as well as broader security challenges for Germany and the transatlantic community, including the continuing confrontation with Moscow over Ukraine, sanctions against Russia, the current discussion over Libya, and others.

Ambassador Hans-Dieter Lucas currently serves as the Permanent German Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels. He was previously Political Director, Foreign Office, Representative to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union (Brussels), Special Envoy for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and Head of the Political Department and Press and Public Affairs, at the German Embassy, Washington, DC, among other postings.
