On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS), we invite your nominations and applications for the position of President of the AICGS. Based in Washington, DC, AICGS is affiliated with Johns Hopkins University and is an independent, nonpartisan U.S. think tank focused on German-American relations. The Institute’s mission is to provide research dedicated to a greater understanding of the challenges and choices facing Germany and the United States in the global arena.

Our search for a new President comes as Dr. Jackson Janes completes nearly thirty years of distinguished service at AICGS. We seek the best candidate to build on the momentum that AICGS has experienced under Jack’s leadership. Following the selection of his successor, Jack will continue as President Emeritus and will be available to contribute to the mission of AICGS.

We welcome your suggestions for candidates for AICGS President and ask you to send the names and contact information for potential candidates to Dr. Jill McGovern, Board member and chair of the Search Committee (jmcgovern@aicgs.org) by November 1, 2017. To be considered for this position, please submit a cover letter and resume by December 1, 2017 to https://jobs.jhu.edu/job/Washington-President-of-AICGS-DC-20036/431649600/.

We expect to fill the position no later than July 1, 2018. Thank you for your interest in AICGS.
