Dr. Karl-Rudolf Korte

Professor Dr. Dr. Karl-Rudolf Korte is a professor of political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the Ruhrgebiet, one of the ten largest universities in Germany, with more than 30,000 students.

Dr. Korte's normal research focus is the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany, but while at AICGS in October and November 2008, Dr. Korte will be working on a project titled "Election Campaign Research: Comparing Actors, Strategies, and Instruments of Campaign Communication," focusing on the campaign for the U.S. presidency and new strategies for voter mobilization.

Dr. Korte was a DAAD/AICGS Fellow exactly four years ago and conducted research on "The Presidentialization of the German Political System." In 2006, Dr. Korte founded the NRW School of Governance in Duisburg-Essen, which has become the largest publicly-funded school of governance of any German university (http://www.nrwschool.de).
