Claire Lehnen joined AICGS as the Executive Assistant/ Outreach Coordinator in November 2013. At the institute, she is responsible for managing AICGS’ database and providing support to the Executive Director in furthering the AICGS mission.
Prior to coming to AICGS, Ms. Lehnen worked as a Research Assistant at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, where she researched the impact of the media on views in German foreign policy as it related to the war on terror in Afghanistan. She also was a second grade teacher at the German School of Ann Arbor.
Ms. Lehnen holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan and focused her studies on quantitative data analysis and Chinese policy. During her undergraduate years at the College of William and Mary, Claire studied German Studies, Foreign Language Education and Art and Art History. She is a native bilingual speaker of German and English and an advanced speaker of Mandarin-Chinese.
